Imposter nuns

Every now and then I get a phone call that absolutely baffles me. A day or two after this story was published I got one of those calls.  From Sept. 16′s Augusta Chronicle:

Convent to open doors to 14 nuns

By Christmas, the number of Episcopalian nuns living in Augusta will nearly triple. The Order of Saint Helena can’t afford to keep its two New York convents open, so the organization voted in Augusta to sell both.

The Augusta convent, established in 1962, will eventually close, too, as the nuns look for a new location to build one, larger facility. I spent maybe five whole minutes on the phone with a fella who insisted he had lived his whole life in Augusta and the city absolutely did not have a convent. Maybe I’m biased, cause you know, I’ve been there and talked with the nuns and seen the chapel and where they live, but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say these weren’t imaginary or imposter nuns.
