Amen Corner

amen.jpg The most devout readers of Saturday’s Your Faith page will have noticed a new feature: Amen Corner. Here’s what the paper had to say about this nifty little column we’ll be running:

EDITOR’S NOTE: Most people in Augusta hear the term Amen Corner and think of Holes 11 through 13 at Augusta National Golf Club. Church folk across the South, however, take Amen Corner to mean the corner of the front pew in church where the deacon sits and says “Amen, preacher” whenever the pastor makes a particular point. The Your Faith page Amen Corner is a weekly shout-out of faith, from the quirky to the sublime. We’ll offer profiles of pastors, faith testimonies, choir performances, wisdom gleaned from church signs, and a joke or two. If you have suggestions for profiles or other column fodder, contact faith and values reporter Kelly Jasper at kelly.jasper@augustachronicle.com.

Maybe not as pretty as the real thing, and I can’t probably charge as much for access (kidding … the industry isn’t in such poor shape that it’s charging for content … I hope), but it’ll do.
