about

We both know you didn’t come for the blog.

As it should be, because this site isn’t so much about me. (Funny how www.kellyjasper.com suggests otherwise, but bear with me.)

I believe that reporting, done well, should be humbling. Every day, I pursue the privilege of learning about people and this world. Under the clips section, you’ll find articles on some of the most fascinating people I’ve met. Their stories are better than mine.

With that said, I offer this: My name is Kelly Jasper. I’ve been blessed in more ways than I could ever know and thank you sincerely for visiting this site. If you only have a few minutes, go click on that clips page and have a quick read. Your time will be better spent.

I live in Virginia. My family moves. A lot. My parents live in Holland, my brother goes to school in North Carolina. He’s my hero for designing this Web site. I have a sister, just married, who lives in Roanoke, Va., with her husband. Chris, you are a brave man. Welcome to the family.

I graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Political Science and Print Journalism. I love my church, the Valley and all of its breathtaking beauty that calls to be hiked, climbed and camped. I’m sure I’ll love a lot of other places, too, but for now, this is home.
